KHIPP provides commercial health insurance coverage at no cost to you.
Monthly reimbursements are paid directly to members to cover the cost of their commercial health insurance policy that is provided by an employer (employer-sponsored insurance-ESI) or through COBRA.
ESI provides more healthcare options to our KHIPP Medicaid Members and their families, such as:
  • Healthcare for your entire family - even those not eligible for Medicaid
  • Access to more health care providers, including many specialists
  • Payment for services that Medicaid does not cover, such as out-of-pocket expenses

CHIPRA Law states that employers must consider eligibility for KHIPP as a qualifying event. This law applies to all employers with KHIPP eligible employees and their families so they can enroll in the ESI at anytime of the year, even outside of the employer's open enrollment period.
